Growing in God

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me….” And that is our vision in Children’s Church. To provide them with a fun and safe environment where they can experience God in a way that is real to them. It is a place where they can develop a real, active and passionate relationship with Jesus; receive the Word that it may take root, grow and bear much fruit; be inspired, trained and equipped to walk in the Spirit.

It is our privilege to serve you and your children. If you have any queries, concerns or comments, please do not hesitate to come and talk with us.

Kerry Cressey
Children’s Church Leader

Check-In for children starts at 9:45 am, fifteen minutes before the main service begins. Each child will be given a name tag and number each week, and parents are given a corresponding number card. If you are a first time visitor, one of the team (in turquoise "FreeLife Kids" t-shirts) will help you register your children. After that, you will be able to check them in yourself. Stickers will be printed for each child to wear during the service and you will keep a matching number sticker with which to collect them and to contact you if your child needs you while you are in the service.  This is for the safety and security of the children.

All the children begin together in the Children’s Area for welcome, worship, and snack*, before separating and going to their own classrooms.

Age Groups

Seedlings: 1 - 3 years

Leader: Julie D’Ascanio
This is a fun and inviting atmosphere where the little ones can play with toys, puzzles, and books with other children their age, after enjoying a time of worship with the older children.

Sprouts: 3 (bathroom independent) - 6 years

Leader: Alyssa Kruszyna
This is a structured class where the children come together to hear stories from the Bible; learn about who God is and what He has done; and do crafts, games, activities, and songs.

Saplings: 7 - 11 years

Leader: Sarah Brown
An interactive group, where fun, Bible stories, crafts, and games are woven together as part of learning Biblical truths and figuring out how to apply them to young lives.

*Snacks include a juice for Sprouts and Saplings, and we ask parents of Seedlings to provide a bottle or closed cup with drink for their child(ren). All food items are dairy, egg, and nut free. Parents of Seedlings can check with the team on duty if their child(ren) can have the snack (usually Welch’s Fruit Snack, Roll Ups, or apple sauce), or provide their own (allergy free).

Mother’s Room / Nursing

We do have a Mother’s Quiet Room/Nursing room for mom’s and their babies who are not old enough for Seedlings. This room is the first on the right in the kids area. We have both audio and visual of the service streamed into this room so you don’t feel like you’re missing out if you and your little one need to step out of the sanctuary. Changing tables are located in the Family Bathroom near the Kids area as well as the Ladies bathroom.

Junior Youth: Grade 6 & Above

This dynamic group is for young people in Grade 6 and above. It’s a time to have fun and a place to belong, become known, and be challenged! We meet every other week during the Saturday service for worship, teaching, and games. On the alternate weeks, we sit together as a group in the main service or serve elsewhere in the church. Registration is at the Children’s Church table.

We also have social events; watch for notices about those. For more information, contact Sam Adelmann.

Living Free (Sozo)

Living Free is an inner healing ministry aimed at getting to the root of strongholds blocking your personal connection with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Removing lies and healing wounds will enable you to walk in the freedom of your calling in Christ.

You will meet with a team who will help to facilitate God’s purpose for you that day. The team is there to support and pray with you as the Father reveals and breaks bondages in your life. The words that He gives you are written down for you to take home and remember His promises over your life. Our team also offers breaking generational curses and deliverance if needed.

We meet at 10:00 am on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the church building.
Please schedule an appointment by emailing Tracey deBlank at

“Almost 2 years ago, I had a Sozo experience, led by 2 members of Free Life’s Living Free team. It was a lovely encounter with the Father and The Son. One of the great blessings was learning how to go to God for myself. I know I can always go back for help if needed, but so far, I have heard more and more on my own. What a blessing. Thank you all.”
“I left there with a sense of hope I have not known for a long while.”
“My sozo was a very rewarding experience.  God spoke clearly and answered each question I asked Him.  He also showed me specific times in my life where I had believed lies, or where doors were open and not-nice things were allowed in. It was so easy once they were identified to simply acknowledge and renounce them, be free, and move on!  God is good!”

Community Outreach

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19

FLC partners with Bill & Beth LaRock of One Hope Ministries to bring the good news of the Gospel to our city of Leesburg. Our focus in the community is in the Heritage Square neighborhood and there are many opportunities to volunteer year round in spreading the love of Jesus.

Please contact Bill & Beth to volunteer with any of the outreach opportunities.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:35,40

How Can I Volunteer?

Heritage Kids Club

Heritage Kids Club is an outreach which holds Saturday morning and Tuesday evening get-togethers to talk to the kids about God and His wonderful plan for them. Fun activities and crafts are also part of the program.

Love In Action

For many people, life is hard and resources are scarce. A loaf of bread or an item of good used clothing from the hand of someone who cares can mean a lot. We pick up great bread and baked goods from the local Wegmans two times per month and distribute it to families that receive it with a smile.

Hope Events

Hope Events are evangelistic outreaches designed to bring needy, lost and lonely people into relationship the one who loves them the most–Jesus Christ.
